Technique Matters
CONTROL • ALLIGNMENT • SAFETY
At Acro Unlimited, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that strong foundations, proper progressions, and quality technique will always matter more than simply achieving a big trick. Every dancer learns differently, which is why I create individualized programs that meet each dancer where they are while helping them work toward their personal goals.
In acro dance, it’s easy to focus on the end goal and overlook the building blocks that make a skill possible. I believe every progression has a purpose, and skipping steps can lead to gaps in technique, limited long-term progress, and an increased risk of injury. My approach prioritizes strength, flexibility, body awareness, and proper technique to help dancers develop skills that are not only impressive, but also safe, consistent, and transferable to the dance floor.
Rather than rushing through progressions to achieve a trick, I focus on understanding how and why a skill works. I identify and address gaps in a dancer’s foundation while continuing to work toward their individual goals, creating well-rounded dancers who can progress with confidence.
My approach to virtual instruction follows these same principles. Through detailed video demonstrations, body shaping, and carefully structured progressions, I teach dancers how to develop skills safely and effectively without relying on a spot. Every exercise has a purpose, and every progression builds toward something greater.
At Acro Unlimited, the goal isn’t just to get the trick. It’s to build the strength, technique, and understanding that make it possible to perform that skill safely, consistently, and successfully for years to come.
